About

The University of Porto Summer Institute on Clinical Psychological Science is an intensive learning experience oriented by a group of international professors and practitioners who are experts on a broad range of evidence based interventions. Its main goal is to enhance participants' knowledge and understanding of theory and research on evidence-based psychological interventions in clinical psychology. PhD students, post-doctoral researchers and practitioners in Psychology and Psychiatry are welcome to the Summer Institute. The Summer Institute is also intended to be a stimulating environment for exchanging research experiences and clinical expertise. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their research projects, attend clinical cases conferences and improve their scientific writing skills. This Institute also aims to create a unique interpersonal and cultural experience, gathering participants and tutors from all over the world in the beautiful city of Porto.
The Summer Institute takes place in Porto, the north capital of Portugal. At the Douro riverbanks, the Cidade Invicta (unvanquished city) is one of the oldest cities in Europe and the second largest city of Portugal. Known worldwide by the Porto Wine, the city of bridges has actually six bridges over the Douro river. Luis I bridge (1881-1886) is the most famous, built by Theophile Seyrig, colleague of Gustav Eiffel. Porto was classified by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage of Humanity (1996) and designated as the European Capital of Culture (2001). City of history, architecture, culture, gastronomy, trade and see, Porto was also elected as Best European Destination (2014). All courses and workshops will be taught in English.

The best way to find FPCEUP is to follow the signs to Paranhos/Hospital de São João.

If you are coming from VCI,
Exit at Paranhos/Hospital and turn right at the traffic lights by the Church of Paranhos. You will be at Rua do Dr. Manuel Pereira da Silva. A few meters ahead, you will see the Metro Station Pólo Universitário. Turn left and FPCEUP will be on your left.

If you are coming from the Circunvalação Road (EN12),
continue until you reach S. João Hospital and turn right at the traffic lights at the Oncology Institute (IPO) (Rua António Berbardino Almeida). Continue straight and then turn left on the 2nd street. When you reach the Metro Station Pólo Universitário, FPCEUP will be on your right.
