It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 12th International Conference on Motivation. The Conference is organized by EARLI SIG 8 and the Faculty of Psychology and Education of the University of Porto and will be hosted by the Faculty of Psychology and Education of the University of Porto (Portugal).
The International Conference on Motivation takes place biennially since 1985, at numerous locations across Europe, as a forum for researchers from all over the world to discuss theory, methods, and practical implications in the field of motivation.
Following the tradition inaugurated in Landau (2006) and continued in Turku (2008), the Porto Conference will be preceded by a Summer School for young researchers interested in topics related to motivation and emotion.
The 12th ICM aims at fostering multiple directions in the field of motivation and emotion, through expanding well-established paths, revisiting earlier concepts or developing emerging aspects.
The conference seeks to stimulate diverse theoretical and research contributions bringing together both quantitative and qualitative aspects of motivation, thereby helping to better understand the interplay of energizing and directing mechanisms of motivated behavior.
Having in mind new directions might stimulate the focus not only on cognitive aspects of motivation, but on value-related, emotional, social and neuro-biological dimensions of motivation, as well.
The 12th ICM is organized cooperatively with EARLI's Special Interest Group Motivation and Emotion.
The official language of the Conference is English.
We look forwards to welcoming you to Porto!
