Come get ready to attend to the Conference, meet your friends, and take a moment to know the Conference venue. If you arrive early on you can also attend to one of the pre-conference workshops . Then, have a chat, a drink and a snack.

To close the first working day of conference,
you are invited to have a taste of Porto.


Writers' Dinner and Round Table, July 11, 20h30

 

You are most welcomed to have dinner in one of Porto’s most emblematic café and to participate in a roundtable with four Portuguese writers. Writers will talk about their own writing process and will comment on the topic of writing and imagination. Guarany is known as the musicians' café and stands out due to its special ambience. Definitely, a place to visit in Porto. Places for dinner are very limited, so please register here until July 4.



Bus Tour Sightseeing, July 12, 18h45

Just before the Conference dinner you are invited to take a city sightseeing tour. The buses will collect conference attendees at the conference venue (18h45), and then have a 5 min. stop at Av. dos Aliados (19h30) to collect some more attendees. If you do not mind missing some of Porto sights, the second collection point is on the right hand side facing Hotel Intercontinental, at the Yellow Bus kiosk (see picture below).

You will see: Lapa – Praça da República – Rotunda da Boavista - Casa da Música – Palácio de Cristal – Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis – Torre dos Clérigos – Avenida dos Aliados – S. Bento – Mercado Ferreira Borges – Palácio da Bolsa – Ponte D. Luis I – Av. Gustavo Eiffel

 

 


Conference Dinner, July 12, 20h

The Conference Dinner will take place in Pousada do Porto - Palácio do Freixo.

Palácio do Freixo was projected by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni in the XVIII century (who also projected the Clérigos tower). It is one of the most remarkable monuments of the Portuguese civil baroque, and was classified as national monument in 1910. The magnificence of the Palace, the river view, and the regional gastronomy all combined with cheerful colleagues will offer you a memorable dinner.

When arriving at Pousada do Porto, a welcome drink will be served at the sound of Rooftop Joe.

 

Later, the dinner will be served at Douro room that offers a magnificent view over the river.

 

Closing Event, July 13, 17h30

The conference will end with a live performance of Atituna, the feminine tuna of the Psychology and Educational Sciences Faculty, University of Porto.
